2019-2020 Busing Information

Please look at the Bus Stops and Routes information page attached to this form. Be aware that morning routes and afternoon routes may be different.

Busing is given to students based on distance from the home to the school. Below you will find the distance criteria and eligibility for all students:

  • K - 2 students must live at least a half-mile or more away from the school.

  • Grades 3 - 6 students must live at least one mile away from the school.

  • General Education students in grades 7 and 8 do not receive busing. Metro cards are available if the student is eligible according to the distance he or she lives from the school.

Important Busing Contacts and Phone Numbers

  • Lorissa Bus Service Inc.: (718) 276-7100. If the bus is late, call this number first before calling the school. The bus company can look into the situation immediately and contact the driver.
  • Department of Education’s Office of Pupil Transportation – (718) 784-3313 or (718) 392-8855.

  • To look up your child’s information online, visit OPTNYC.org and click the red icon. You will need to enter your child’s student ID number and date of birth to view and print the information.

Please fill out the BUS REQUEST FORM form and return it to your child’s teacher immediately (All busing requests go to Barbara in the main office). If you have any other busing questions, please contact Mr. Brachio.
